Men's Safety Local Support Service

South West Sydney District

The Men’s Safety Service is a Safer Pathway Local Support Service (LSS) funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. We provide coordinated, practical, and safety-focused support to male victim-survivors of domestic and family violence across South West Sydney.

 

Since September 2024, MWA has been providing this service which is grounded in dignity, choice, and safety, ensuring men who experience violence are supported to navigate systems, reduce risk, and access the help they need.

Who We Support

We provide support to provides support to male victim-survivors (from 16 years of age) of domestic and family violence. This includes intimate partner violence, family abuse, and coercive control

Location Covered

The Men’s Safety Service supports men living in:

  • Bankstown
  • Fairfield
  • Liverpool
  • Macarthur, including Campbelltown and Camden

Our Role as a Local Support Service (LSS)

As part of the Safer Pathway program, our role is to ensure men at risk receive timely, coordinated, and holistic support.

 

We provide:

  • Initial contact and case coordination
  • Case management
  • Representation at Safety Action Meetings (SAMs)
  • Risk assessment
  • Safety planning
  • Case planning
  • Information and referral

Referrals and Access

Most referrals to the Men’s Safety Service come through NSW Police and Courts.

 

Manual referrals can also be made using the Safer Pathway Referral Form, available via the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.

About DV Notify

As part of the Safer Pathway program, our role is to ensure men at risk receive timely, coordinated, and holistic support. We provide:

  • Case planning
  • Information and referral

 

On 30 October 2025 DV Notify was launched for one year and to be piloted in three locations:

  • Liverpool Police Area Command
  • Manning-Great Lakes Police District
  • Orana Mid-Western Police District

 

Using contact details that victim-survivors provide to Police, DV Notify aims to improve victim-survivor safety by automatically sending them text or email notifications when the perpetrator is released from custody in real-time. DV Notify will operate on a 24/7 basis and is an opt-out service.
