On Thursday 5th November 2020, CEO of Muslim Women Australia, Maha Krayem Abdo OAM, appeared before the Joint Select Committee for the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Anti-Discrimination Amendment
(Religious Freedoms and Equality) Bill 2020 at NSW Parliament House.
This was an opportunity to present on the Submission by Muslim Women Australia that was submitted in writing to the Joint Select Committee in August 2020. Ms Krayem Abdo relayed some of the negative experiences that many Muslim women have with religious discrimination in NSW and the need for the law to be able protect Muslim women from being discriminated against.
