A unique and exciting strengths-based program that has been designed by and for the Arab community, which highlights the existing positive aspects of Arab culture that support gender equality, while challenging attitudes and beliefs that undermine or inhibit gender equality.
The program will build the skills of participants by providing activities and exercises that encourage participants to positively deal with gender issues.
Topics covered will include:
- Gender Equality and Common Misconceptions
- Cultural Gender Inequality
- Impacts of Gender Equality and Impacts
- Is change possible?
- What can we do?
Who: Women from Arab backgrounds who reside in the Bankstown and Liverpool local government areas
What: 6 face to face workshops during October and November 2020
When: Tuesdays weekly from 9:30am to 12.30am. Starting Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 to Tuesday, November 24th, 2020
Where: Felicity House, Bass Hill.
Program available in Arabic and English
Facilitator: Trained Bi-lingual Facilitator
