This year’s NAIDOC theme, Always Was, Always Will Be,  recognises that First Nation people have occupied and cared for this country for over 65,000 years.

MWA acknowledges and celebrates First Nation peoples history and cultures across these lands. The very first footprints on these lands were those belonging to First Nation Peoples. We embrace the true history of these lands and are fully committed to lift up First Nation Peoples’ voices.

MWA acknowledges our First Nation peoples are spiritually connected to this country and belong. We stand for equality and healing across these lands and hope to move forward with our First Nation brothers and sisters from past traumas.

First Nations, people from across Australia, know what needs to change. We are aware of First Nation peoples history and injustices, and MWA supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

MWA will support and elevate the voices of First Nations peoples who have wisdom, knowledge and understanding on how to improve the lives of First Nation people across these lands.
