Providing emergency financial relief to asylum seekers and other vulnerable temporary visa holders who do not receive Commonwealth Government assistance and are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19.
Types of Support:
- Emergency Relief Essentials
(e.g. food, personal hygiene, cleaning products)
- Personal Health Safety
(e.g. items such as masks and hand sanitizer)
- Medical Support
(e.g. mental health support, pharmaceutical and medical needs for diagnosed medical conditions, costs for medical appointments. Elective or non-essential surgery/treatment is excluded.)
- Telecommunications needs to maintain connectivity
(e.g. phone cards, Internet and data costs. Excludes phone/modem/router purchases.)
(e.g. fuel costs, registration, repair and maintenance for roadworthiness, insurance, opal cards, other reasonable transport costs)
- Essential Housing
(e.g. gas, water or electricity bills, rent, rates, urgent repairs and maintenance to maintain tenancies, and for crisis accommodation).
